One of my daily chores is updating our Instagram account where we have 57,500 followers, this requires a constant feed of new photographs which we take on a daily basis here at the factory. Visitors to my apartment here at Westley Richards always enjoy all the (what I call) ‘gun junk’ which covers all the tables, shelves and window ledges here. I thought I would put some of it in order and show those unable to visit the bits and pieces I like to gather in.

Of course any additions are always welcome – I am a keen buyer for anything WR or other similar associated gun junk!

    • I’d suggest that one man’s junk is another’s sporting memorabilia. I’d tell my good lady they are valuable collectibles and she would tell me to keep them in my study or they’d wind up in the bin!

    • My wife would not only tolerate it, she has her own collection, including several fine English doubles, and considerable fishing tackle.

Each of those items has a fascinating history, that I hope is recorded somewhere.

    • It is a little oil dropper. I need to take it’s hat off occasionally, then it would be clear! It is a nice little thing and nice to have in brass.

  1. Hi, in the picture with the detachable locks there is an item to the left with white pieces marked 1 to 10. What are they and what are they used for?

    • This called a peg or place finder. At the start of a shoot the numbers are turned around. The host presents to each gun and they take a peg or one of the white pieces which will identify where he will stand in the line of guns for first drive. Most shoots you may move up 2 from this number each drive.
